Map Randomness

To increase fun and earn more PoE 2 Currency, each map will automatically have one to three random extra items (Breach, Expedition, Ritual, Delirium, etc.) added to it upon generation.

Previously, these random items displayed icons on the map. However, starting with patch 0.3.1, these icons will be removed from Atlas. All non-player-added items will be randomly generated, while the system will avoid duplication with player-added items. Map Size And Monster Density

Open maps will have slightly lower monster density than enclosed indoor maps to prevent overwhelmed monsters in open areas.

Other Miscellaneous Changes

All equipment dropped in Act 1 is white quality, meaning normal. You should only pick up normal equipment with higher base stats. Use Orb of Transmutation and Orb of Augmentation to upgrade them into blue magic gear, gaining useful affixes.

Also, it's best to use a reliable loot filter to highlight items that are useful to you. Some gear isn't usable by your class, so keeping it in your inventory just takes up space, and you'll have to discard it when you find something better, which is very time-consuming.

If you obtain magic (blue) or rare (yellow) items, you can directly compare them with your current gear and choose the one with the greater upgrade.

Also in Act 1, find NPC Yuna to disenchant rare gear for Regal Shards. These can be combined into Regal Orbs, which are used to upgrade blue gear to yellow gear and are one of the core currencies for crafting gear.

Acts 2-3

Shop

Be sure to check the shop frequently, as the items are updated with each level. You can use the search function to find the keyword affixes you need. For weapons, focus on affixes that increase elemental and physical damage. For armor, focus on affixes that increase health, followed by armor, evasion, and energy shield. Movement speed affixes are also very important, but they typically only appear on boots.

Farming Currency

Mawdun Quarry area in Act 2 is a great place to farm Armorer's Scrap and Blacksmith's Whetstone early on. These upgrade your weapons and armor, and you can create new instances to farm them repeatedly.

But be careful not to be fooled by a gear with high DPS. Many high DPS items are simply inflated because of multiple damage modifiers and quality, and the actual benefit isn't as good as a weapon worth 1 Regal Orb but with solid modifiers.

If you're choosing from gear sold by other players, set a range based on your currency, for example, no more than 4 PoE 2 Exalted Orbs, and then look for the highest DPS within that range.

Endgame

The endgame will arrive soon after you complete Act 4, and this is the actual game begins, actually. The difficulty of the endgame is high, but the drops are far more valuable than those in the campaign, and some currencies are even only available in the endgame. Only during this period, you craft the gear that best suits your build.

Endgame maps have different tiers, and you need to reach higher-tier maps as quickly as possible, as the drops from higher-tier maps are far superior to those from lower-tier maps.

There are two major ways to increase map tiers:

• Defeating map bosses has a chance of obtaining higher-tier Waystone.
• Clearing Corruption Areas and completing each unique map for the first time earns Atlas Points, which are used to strengthen Atlas talent tree.

Initially, prioritize investing your Atlas points in nodes that increase Waystone drops, item rarity, and quantity.

Bosses also drop Precursor Tablets, which you use at Towers on the map. These tablets can be used to add affixes to the map within the tower's range, allowing it to contain more bosses or activities. This is the best way to get high tier Waystone quickly .

Other players also sell Precursor Tablets, so if you're short on tablets, you can trade with other players.

Farming Strategy

This strategy relies on gambling with Vaal Orbs, upgrading or converting low-value Essences into higher-value Essences. To earn PoE 2 Divine Orbs this way, you'll need to farm Essence monsters and also prepare a number of Vaal Orbs.

A Vaal Orb can perform one of 5 effects on a group of Essences:

• No effect: Waste a Vaal Orb.
• Add a random Essence.
• Re-roll all Essences (changing types within the same level).
• Increase the quality of Essences or convert Perfect Essences into Corrupted Essences.
• Instantly release Essence Monsters.

As long as Essence you see isn't one of the top-tier, valuable Essences like Perfect Essence of Battle, it's worth a gamble with a Vaal Orb.

For low-value Essences, it's definitely worth the gamble; even if you lose, it won't be too much, and if it improves, you win a lot. For mid-value Essences, you can either gamble or keep it for your own use.

High-value Perfect Essences can also be gambled with a Vaal Orb, as there's a chance they can be transformed into a more valuable Corrupted Essence.

If you encounter a group of multiple high-value Essences, it's best not to gamble; simply take the money and walk away, and using a Vaal Orb might result in a loss.

If you encounter a group of multiple low-value Perfect Essences, absolutely use a Vaal Orb, as the potential reward from upgrading to a Corrupted Essence is extremely high, potentially earning you several Divine Orbs.

Processing Essences

For low-value Essences with absolutely no market demand, you can use the in-game 3:1 exchange feature to exchange three low-level Essences of the same type for one random higher-level Essence. This is inherently a gamble, and there's a chance you'll get something more valuable.

Atlas Talent Tree

The core talent in Atlas talent tree is Crystal Realm, which grants the area containing the map boss an additional Essence.

Other talent nodes that increase the chance of Essence appearing are useful, but don't need to be maxed out past 100%. Universal talent nodes that grant random bonuses may also contain Essence and are worth considering.

You can also use additional Essence-enhancing Tablets, which are worth around 50 PoE 2 Exalted Orbs, which is a negligible amount compared to the currency earned.

The rarity and number of maps do not affect the amount of Essence, but do affect the quantity and quality of other items dropped by Essence monsters after killing them.

While this has no effect on Essence itself, it's still recommended to run maps with more affixes, as the bosses themselves will drop more valuable rare items, which can help cover the consume of the map and increase overall returns.

This is a rough guide to farming Essence. Some players might consider gambling with Vaal orbs risky, but this game is full of gambling. Furthermore, this method is relatively easy to implement, allowing you to integrate it into other gameplay strategies like Breach and Delirium, rather than focusing solely on farming Essence.

While farming is the primary way to earn loot in PoE 2, you can also trade with others to more quickly obtain those drops you've always eluded, or to sell any excess items you've acquired.

Before the release of Patch 0.3.0, the trading system in Path of Exile 2 performed its basic functions, and the actual experience was limited by its lack of automatic functionality. Thankfully, this patch has updated this.

As a result, you can now more easily and conveniently sell excess items in The Third Edict using Auto-Trade system to earn PoE 2 currency. However, the system isn't activated immediately; it requires completing a series of prerequisite quests.

Enter Act 4 And Find Ange

The key to Hostile Takeover quest is defeating the boss, Diamora, the Song of Death, located in Singing Caverns, an area of Whakapanu Islands.

To reach this location, you must first complete Ship Charter quest in the main storyline. This quest requires you to find Makoru, who will help you obtain the ship needed to sail.

When you first arrive on the island, you'll encounter some monsters around level 46-48. You'll need to defeat them while exploring the island to find the boss, as the map is always random. It's generally easier to find in the northwest of the archipelago.

Defeat Diamora, The Song Of Death

As a key boss in Act 4, Diamora's attacks are mostly cold-damaging, so you'll need to equip gear with cold resistance. Furthermore, your resistance will decrease over time during the fight, so it's safe to aim for at least 30% or 40% resistance.

To achieve this, it's recommended to consume currency on a Sapphire Ring for cold resistance and add the corresponding runes and gems to your armor. This will increase your cold resistance to around 60%.

Phase 1

This boss fight consists of three phases. In the first minute or two of Phase 1, Diamora won't attack much, so you can focus on dealing as much damage as possible by avoiding her summoned tornadoes and dodging her arm thrusts.

Then the boss will slide off the edge of the map and periodically jump out of the arena. During this time, a tornado wall will form behind her, so be sure to avoid it.

Phase 2

When the boss's health reaches approximately three-quarters, she will enter the center of the arena, triggering Phase 2. During this phase, she will create a wide-area gaze effect, which you must avoid by avoiding Diamora.

During this phase, the boss herself will not directly damage you, but she will summon minions. These minions deal significant additional damage, which stacks over time.

In addition, during Phase 2, the statues at the edge of the arena will begin creating a Petrifying Gaze effect, which will root you in place. You must avoid them.

Phase 3

After the gaze ends, Diamora returns to her regular combat mode and Phase 3 begins. The key to this phase is to kill the boss quickly, otherwise she may activate her gaze again.

During this phase, the boss will summon multiple bubbles that move around the arena. Do not stand in or touch them, as this will inflict Drowning debuff. If you receive three Drowning debuffs, you will die instantly.

So, you'll need to keep attacking Diamora while dodging bubbles until you finally kill her.

Return To Ange To Unlock Shoreline Hideout

After defeating Diamora, the Song of Death, you can teleport back to Kingsmarch and interact with Ange again. She will grant you access to Shoreline Hideout.

Not only can you rest here, but Ange will also serve as your trade manager. You can sell items, and Ange will handle the transaction for you while you're offline.

How Do You Set Up Automatic Trading?

To enable Ange to work automatically, first obtain a merchant tab from the micro-transaction shop, or convert an existing premium tab to obtain one.

Once you've done that, place the items you want to sell into the tab, and Ange will handle the transaction for you while you're offline or completing quests.

Overall, unlocking this system isn't difficult. The only slightly tricky part is Diamora, the Song of Death boss fight. However, with the appropriate gear and a good understanding of her combat patterns, it's easily manageable.

Incinerate received a skill rework in patch 0.3.0, requiring mana to acquire Fuel resource to activate, and no longer granting Burning Ground by default. Builds that relied on its Burning Ground to trigger Whirling Slash were severely impacted, and those who wanted to continue this playstyle would need to find a replacement for Incinerate or simply not play at all.

Infernal Cry

Many builds have added Infernal Cry to their skill list because it provides a significant amount of additional fire damage to melee builds. It's a very useful skill against non-boss enemies.

Enhanced Skills

Arc

Contagion received a similar rework to Lightning Rod. As its quality increases, its effect shifts from increasing debuff damage to granting additional infected targets. This skill allows Witches and Mercenaries to benefit from Chaos Damage Over Time builds, improving the efficiency of farming PoE 2 currency.

Comet

Comet's base damage has been increased by approximately 20%. This is a significant improvement compared to other skills that receive direct stat buffs, primarily because of the impact on critical strike. These buffs act as compensation for the impact on critical strikes.

Ascendancy Class Changes

Blood Mage Witch

Sanguimancy passive node can now be freely allocated (saving 2 Ascendancy points). Additionally, Life Remnants spawn on hits and critical strikes, making it more likely that a Blood Mage Witch's health will be depleted.

The new node, Whispers of the Flesh, grants cursed enemies 15% health, which is actually a significant change, as keeping the curse active allows you to trigger other auras, increasing your damage.

Blood Mage Witch was already a strong contender in League, and this change directly benefits it with a significant direct damage increase, convenience, and talent point savings, making it one of the biggest winners of 0.3.0.

Gemling Legionnaire

Advanced Thaumaturgy Notable Passive now automatically generates red/green/blue orbs based on skill stat requirements;

Gem Studded Notable now provides powerful bonuses based on socket color (cost reduction, movement skill penalty reduction, critical damage reduction, etc.).

These changes transform Gemling Legionnaire from a utility talent into a more practical and powerful one, providing significant sustain and flexible buffs, potentially opening up new playstyles in patch 0.3.0.

Lich

Price of Power Notable Passive node now grants 40% more damage (up from 25%) and no longer excludes channeled skills. This simple change gives spell-based Lich builds a straightforward, massive damage boost.

Smith Of Kitava

Desecrated items are obtained in two steps. First, you need to farm Abyssal Fissures to obtain Abyssal Currencies, which typically take the form of bones from various Abyssal enemies.

Next, you need to apply this special currency to your regular rare items, converting them into Desecrated items to obtain a hidden modifier. The currently available currencies and their functions are:

• Gnawed Jawbone: Desecrates a Rare Weapon or Quiver
• Preserved Jawbone: Desecrates a Rare Weapon or Quiver
• Ancient Jawbone: Desecrates a Rare Weapon or Quiver
• Gnawed Rib: Desecrates a Rare Armor
• Preserved Rib: Desecrates a Rare Armor
• Ancient Rib: Desecrates a Rare Armor
• Gnawed Collarbone: Desecrates a Rare Amulet, Ring or Belt
• Preserved Collarbone: Desecrates a Rare Amulet, Ring or Belt
• Ancient Collarbone: Desecrates a Rare Amulet, Ring or Belt
• Preserved Cranium: Desecrates a Rare Jewel
• Preserved Vertebrae: Desecrates a Rare Waystone

Note that this newly added modifier is initially inactive. You must visit Well of Souls, infuse acquired bones into gear or Waystones, and then reveal them through Well of Souls to activate the modifier's effect.

Completing this interaction grants you permanent access to Well of Souls' features. It will then become a dedicated crafting station, similar to a hideout, allowing you to quickly access it when you need to modify new gear.

What Does Well Of Souls Do?

Here, you can reveal and apply Desecrated modifiers, earned through Abyssal Currency, to rare gear.

These modifiers are initially hidden on the item in unreadable green text. Placing an item in a Well of Souls container will trigger a ritual offering three different modifier options, which you can choose from.

Note that once you select and confirm a modifier, Abyssal Currency can no longer be used on that item, making the buffs granted to the gear permanent and unchangeable.

Selecting a modifier allows you to add general modifiers to gear, allowing you to upgrade faster through combat and making it easier to acquire gear with specific stat rolls.

Adding modifiers to Waystones, on the other hand, allows you to infuse new Waystones with new modifiers in the endgame, increasing the challenge level and earning more rewards.

In short, Desecrated items are new items that enhance your gear in Rise of the Abyssal League. To function, they must be activated and selected through a ritual in Well of Souls.
