  • New World Aeternum Shutting Down | Season 10 Last Update, Servers Closing, And Player Reactions Explained

    Posted: Oct 29, 2025

New World: Aeternum is dead! While players are still enjoying Season 10, and even seeing a rebound in player numbers since Season 9, the end is hanging over New World.

New World: Aeternum Season 10 was just released two weeks ago, and Rise of the Angry Earth DLC was released for free, and everything seemed to be getting better. Why did New World: Aeternum come to an abrupt end? We need to see the latest announcement.

New World Aeternum Shutting Down | Season 10 Last Update, Servers Closing, And Player Reactions Explained

    What Happened?

In the announcement on October 28th, the developers stated that New World will cease providing new content updates at the end of 2026. The servers will continue to operate until 2026 (possibly until the end of the year), or even early 2027, but will eventually shut down. The official announcement promised to notify players six months in advance before the closure.

The recently released Season 10: Nighthaven will be the last major content update for the game on PC and console platforms. The game will enter Maintenance Mode, meaning the official team will only perform necessary bug fixes and server maintenance, and will no longer develop new content.

    Current Game Status

The game is no longer available for sale on Steam, but it may still be available on the official website. In-game currency and micro-transactions will remain open, allowing players to trade items and New World coins with other players. Players with PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium memberships can continue playing.

Halloween Event will be the last holiday event; subsequent winter events and similar events will not be held. The official team will perform necessary bug fixes to maintain server stability, but there will be no new content.

Before the announcement, the total number of players on PC and console platforms was approximately 80,000. After the announcement, the player count has plummeted.

    Why Is It Shutting Down?

The primary and most direct reason for the closure of New World: Aeternum is massive layoffs at its parent company, with some reports suggesting up to 30,000 employees affected.

The video game division was severely impacted, with 2 studios developing New World: Aeternum being almost entirely shut down. A game project based on Lord of the Rings IP was also cancelled.

New World: Aeternum's parent company announced a shift in resources towards AI, calling it "the most transformative technology since the internet." However, they didn't completely eliminate the game division; instead, the focus shifted to developing AI casual games, such as Snoop Dogg game mentioned in the announcement.

Other retained projects include the mobile game March of Giants, a new Tomb Raider title under a publishing agreement, and an open-world driving game.

    New World: Aeternum's Own Problems

New World: Aeternum received significant resources from the company from the outset, boasting top game developers and a highly skilled workforce. It garnered tremendous attention before its release, even reaching a peak of 1 million players at launch.

However, due to management issues, New World: Aeternum was practically a half-finished product upon launch, suffering from optimization problems and insufficient content, leading to a significant loss of players.

After reaching a peak of 1 million players at launch, the game's player base never returned to that level. Although Season 10 performed well and player numbers rebounded somewhat, in the long run, the game failed to achieve the expected commercial success.

Player Reactions And Impact On The Game

New World: Aeternum Season 10 was actually of high quality. Its content design was excellent, and the combat system had no major bugs. The main problem was insufficient loot, forcing players to repeatedly farm ECRS in the late game.

However, knowing the game had no future, most players lost the motivation to continue playing, because the core appeal of MMOs lies in a continuously developing and evolving world.

Soon, you'll see the in-game economy (trading, auction house, guild activity) weaken due to the reduced player base, and community activities, group raids, and PvP participation decline.

And this current news may very well cause a temporary rebound in player numbers. Because players eager to enjoy the final season might return early or speed up their play, if you want to have a blast before the final moments arrive, it is the perfect time to squander your New World coins and items.

    Potential Endings

The game is still running, and New World: Aeternum's fate isn't necessarily sealed. There are two possible outcomes:

    • The game remains in maintenance mode until the servers shut down.
    • The game's IP might be sold to a third-party company.

However, this essentially means its parent company will no longer develop MMOs. Currently, the entire game industry, especially the high-cost, high-risk MMO sector, is in a very unstable and pessimistic period. Most successful MMOs are currently based on existing IPs, and it's difficult for entirely new IPs to break through and achieve success. New World: Aeternum's early setbacks and its current ending exacerbate this predicament.

New World: Aeternum isn't the best, nor is it the worst MMO. Its focus on PvP and combat gameplay is unique among MMOs, but unfortunately, it's now lying in a coffin awaiting burial. If you still love this game, then this is its last moment of glory. Enjoy the game.

  • New World Aeternum Season 10 Tank Builds Guide | Master Solo And Team Combat

    Posted: Oct 28, 2025

Whether you're playing as a tank on a New World Aeternum team or prefer to tank solo, you need to master reliable builds. Crafting any build in New World is a complex process that requires careful consideration of multiple factors.

With the addition of the new Nighthaven zone, new battle modes, and raids in Season 10, the chances of encountering unstable and dangerous situations have increased, so a solid tank build will help you survive longer.

Below, we'll cover everything you need to know about crafting a tank build suitable for various combat scenarios this season.

New World Aeternum Season 10 Tank Builds Guide | Master Solo And Team Combat

What Qualities Should Tank Builds Possess?

Tanker roles often convey a solid and reliable impression in combat. While their damage output may be average, their health and defense are superior to their DPS, making them effective at attracting enemies and protecting teammates in team fights.

However, the tank builds we're introducing this time are designed to be suitable both for solo and team play, so their damage output needs to be average.

Therefore, when choosing artifacts, armor, and perks, in addition to the most important health and defense bonuses, it's important to include items with damage buffs to ensure you can still kill enemies in a timely manner during solo exploration.

In addition, for tank builds, you should always focus on strength and constitution. Investing enough points in each, try to maintain a 1:1 or 1.5:1 ratio between the two.

    Artifact Selection

Although Season 10 has added new artifacts, don't rush. New isn't always the best. At least for tank builds, we recommend the classic ring Blooddrinker.

The most important perk within this artifact, Ghoul's Harmony, grants you 25% lifesteal effect and increases all healing from lifesteal by an additional 5%.

Although the accompanying debuff reduces your base damage to enemies, the overall artifact system update introduced in Season 10 has reduced this value from 25% to 20%, and further reduced to 15% if the target is diseased.

This way, you can receive substantial, consistent healing on your own, ensuring you're constantly replenished, whether you're fighting solo or your team's healer is struggling.

While tanks should have some damage potential, that's predicated on having adequate health and defense, so don't worry about equipping Blooddrinker.

As for armor artifacts, both Void Darkplate and The Unmoved are excellent. The former offers durability and increased block damage, while the latter, while less tanky, reflects void damage equal to 16% of your weapon's damage.

Which armor artifact you choose depends on your personal needs: to be a more robust team shield or a versatile offensive and defensive player.

As for amulets, Odo is recommended. It supplements your damage output and provides lifesteal and healing benefits, as follows:

    • Odo's Punishment: Increases your damage dealt to stunned or knocked-down enemies by 20%.
    • Odo's Confidence: All your attacks grant 3% lifesteal. If you don't have a shield equipped, you gain an additional 5% lifesteal.
    • Leeching II: Restore health equal to 3.2% of your damage dealt.
    • Trenchant Strikes II: Increases the damage of your Heavy Melee attacks by 12%.

    Main Weapon Selection

New World Aeternum offers a wide variety of weapon types, and choosing a primary weapon that synergize effectively with your secondary weapon is crucial.

For tank builds, Sword and Shield is generally the best primary weapon. While dual-wielding a weapon may offer lower mobility, its active and passive abilities give it exceptional utility and defense, making it particularly well-suited for tanking in PvE.

You can choose a Sword and Shield-centric tank build based on your needs and available artifacts. Of course, different build styles require you to unlock different Sword and Shield abilities.

PvE - Shield Bash: Increases defense, damage output, cooldown reduction, and threat management

    • Upheaval
    • Shield Bash
    • Defender's Resolve

PvE - Shield Rush: Continuously reduces damage from one or more enemies, maintaining a continuous buff

    • Shield Rush

PvE - Defensive Formation Tank: A tank build with optimal defense

    • Defensive Formation

PvP - Shield Rush: Focuses on damage, ideal for solo PvP play

    • Leaping Strike
    • Shield Bash
    • Shield Rush

Also, it's best to add a Cut Pristine Carnelian Gem to your sword. This grants a taunt effect when you use certain abilities, attracting and suppressing enemy attacks. This is very useful in team fights.

How To Choose Your Secondary Weapon?

Regardless of your build style, we recommend Hatchet as your secondary weapon. While it lacks obvious tanking characteristics, it's highly forgiving, easy to master, and compatible with most builds and combat types.

However, it's important to note that Hatchet is best suited for PvE combat, as it deals more damage and complements your primary weapon. Additionally, Cut Pristine Carnelian Gem can also be added to your secondary weapon.

Which Additional Perks Can Enhance Your Build?

In addition to the perks inherent to artifacts, some gear provides slots for you to add more perks, boosting the strength of the gear and even the entire build. For tank builds, the following perks are recommended:

    • Enchanted Ward: Reduces the damage dealt by enemy light and heavy attacks.
    • Refreshing Ward: Reduces skill cooldown, allowing you to block or defend more frequently.
    • Hated: Helps you continuously generate threat, attracting enemy aggro.
    • Health: Increases your maximum health.
    • Protection Perks: Choose perks with targeted protection based on the type of combat you're facing.
    • Conditioning Perks: Choose perks that reduce specific types of damage based on the type of combat you're about to face.

That's all for this guide. If you or your friends are playing a tank role, this guide should help you complete the new content in Season 10!

  • New World Season 10 Best Bow Build Guide | Optimize Armor, Weapons, And Attributes For PvE Success

    Posted: Oct 22, 2025

While it's a good idea to stick with your proven builds from previous seasons when entering New World Season 10, developing new builds will not only expand your combat options but also help you become more familiar with the new season's mechanics.

Typically, crafting builds in New World Aeternum are centered on a specific artifact or piece of gear. This time, we'll continue this tradition and show you how to craft a bow-centric build in Season 10.

New World Season 10 Best Bow Build Guide | Optimize Armor, Weapons, And Attributes For PvE Success

    Bow Build In S10 Overview

In New World Aeternum, attunements can be thought of as buffs similar to perks. Therefore, whether it's a bow or other weapon, the more attunements you have, the more valuable it is to craft a unique build for it.

As you craft your build, you'll need to continuously earn gold and new gear to complete it, so you'll definitely want to delve into the modes and challenges available in the early stages.

This will also help you become more familiar with Season 10 mechanics, allowing you to use your established bow build to defeat more challenging bosses once you enter the endgame.

The build introduced here is actually more suited for PvE, so you can be more targeted when searching for gear. You can also try using this build to handle simple PvP encounters, but it won't be effective in large-scale PvP battles.

Also, due to the nature of the bow weapon, this build isn't ideal for melee combat. However, it offers good overall range adaptability, is very versatile, and has high damage potential.

    Optimal Armor

Let's start with armor. After all, in the early stages of a season, learning how to improve your defense and survivability to protect yourself is paramount.

To do this, you can first consume your New World coins to redeem a medium headwear with as many defensive perks as possible, such as Flame Conditioning or Slash Conditioning.

Afterwards, you'll need to continue farming for available light chest armor and light gloves. Of course, you still need to strive to acquire and equip items with a wonderful selection of defensive perks.

Generally speaking, most armor sets have Physical Ward and Shock Conditioning, so when choosing a chest armor, focus on Energizing Evade Shot and ensure your gloves have Lifestealing perk.

For legwear, the best choice is Attuned Leather Pants. It grants +9 to all attributes and has the unique perks Elemental Aversion II and Shirking Energy II. They also provide an empty gem slot and a defense slot.

Note that with the Season 10 update, you can use Umbral Shards to increase your gear score. Therefore, if you have enough shards, it's best to upgrade your armor score to 785 - the same applies to the weapons described below.

    Weapon Selection And Combination

The bow is undoubtedly the main weapon of the entire build. To ensure its effectiveness, you can combine it with the following abilities:

    • Penetrating Shot: Fires an arrow that deals 150% weapon damage and pierces the target, with a range of 100 meters.
    • Rapid Shot: Fires three arrows in succession, dealing 100%, 100%, and 120% weapon damage, respectively.
    • Rain of Arrows: Unleashes a rain of arrows in a 4-meter radius, dealing 150% weapon damage.

As for your secondary weapon choice, there are many options for a bow build, but based on your existing armor and the other content we'll discuss later, we recommend the rapier.

This is because in PvE combat, these two weapons combined can deliver high burst damage, especially if you prioritize your Intelligence when investing in attributes, which will increase your DPS and overall elemental attack boost.

The specific use of these two weapons in combat is to first use the bow to lure the enemy to you, then use the rapier to deal burst damage and knock them down. Regarding the specific Rapier choice, Finisher is a good artifact.

It's worth noting that there's another way to combine the bow and rapier: use the rapier for a quick escape, but then use Riposte ability to stagger and stun the enemy for 2 seconds when they get close.

    Jewelry Pairing

Jewelry is a general term, specifically encompassing amulets, rings, and earrings, each with distinct functions.

When choosing amulets, aim for perks that increase health, stamina, and recovery. Vicious and Omnidirectional Evade are both excellent amulet perks for bow builds.

Rings focus on increasing your damage and defense, so we recommend equipping Soulpollen. It has a base gear score of 650-700 and several unique perks.

Earrings are unique in that they grant a unique perk called Refreshing Toast, which shortens the cooldown of potions, giving you a chance to turn the tide in long battles.

    How To Invest In Attributes?

For bow builds, choosing and investing in attributes primarily depends on how you plan to use your secondary weapon.

If you want to focus your secondary weapon on keeping distance from enemies, invest all of your Dexterity after reaching 50 Constitution to ensure agility and evasion.

If you're aiming for more damage with your secondary weapon, especially with our recommended rapier, you can focus on Intelligence, providing both increased damage and the bow's elemental attack bonus.

Note that the first stat investment option is only suitable for advanced Season progression, as you'll be proficient with the bow and arrows at this point, and 50 Constitution is generally sufficient. Using this method too early may result in additional losses.

That's all for this guide. If you happen to have a good bow or prefer a bow build that prioritizes agility, give it a try!

While crafting builds, you'll also need to constantly consume coins or materials to upgrade your gear. To save time, you can directly get safe New World gold trading at IGGM to skip the tedious farming process and jump right into the excitement of Season 10!

  • New World Aeternum Season 10 Umbral Shards Farming Guide | Best PvP & PvE Methods

    Posted: Oct 20, 2025

If you're a veteran New World player with at least two years of experience, you'll undoubtedly be familiar with Umbral Shards as you explore the new content released in Season 10 in 2025. They were actually removed from the game in 2023.

Also known as Umbral Crystals, these items were used to further increase your gear score. However, because of poor mechanics, they became redundant in the late game and were ultimately removed.

The return of these items in Season 10 suggests this issue has been resolved, or at least the positive impact far outweighs the negative impact. Therefore, obtaining sufficient Umbral Shards in Season 10 is essential.

Next, we'll explain how to farm these items based on Season 10 gameplay and modes.

New World Aeternum Season 10 Umbral Shards Farming Guide | Best PvP & PvE Methods

    Umbral Shards In Season 10

The main purpose of this item remains unchanged in Season 10: it aims to increase your gear score from 700 to a maximum of 800. Please note that to address previous issues, you can now only earn a maximum of 4,000 Umbral Shards per week.

Therefore, after completing your weekly Umbral Crystal farming, you'll need to plan your use to maximize their value.

Why Should You Farm Umbral Shards?

Umbral Shards increase your gear score, significantly increasing your gear's base damage and perk effectiveness. This will grant your character more combat bonuses and unlock more endgame content to earn rewards.

It's important to note that while your gear score can currently reach 800, it's best not to exceed 785 unless you're truly devoted to a particular piece of gear, as its effectiveness diminishes with increasing levels after 785.

    Farming By Playing PvP Modes

While PvP modes haven't changed significantly in Season 10, most gameplay modes offer Umbral Shards as rewards.

    Capture The Flag

This mode officially launched in New World in Season 9. Each round consists of two teams of 10 players, each lasting ten minutes. Your goal is to capture the opposing team's flag. In addition to Umbral Shards, you also earn PvP XP.

It's important to note that compared to other PvP modes, CTF is more fast-paced, requiring you to be quick and agile in both flag-grabbing and combat. Therefore, it's important to consume New World coins for gear with these bonuses to increase efficiency.

    Outpost Rush

This PvP mode actually has some PvE aspects. After reaching level 60, you can join any 20-player team and compete with another team for control of three outposts to earn points. The first team to reach 1,000 points wins.

    3v3 Arena

This is the smallest PvP mode currently in the game. It pits two teams against each other in a best-of-five 3v3 format on a random map to determine the winner. It's worth noting that Ancient Guardian Arena is a PvE mode.

    Farming By Playing PvE Modes

Season 10 introduces several new PvE gameplay modes to New World Aeternum, including the new Catacombs mode and the new Isle of Night raid. However, not all of them drop Umbral Shards, and the farming value varies.

    Catacombs

As the main new gameplay mode in Season 10, Catacombs is truly remarkable in terms of playability. Not only is it challenging, but each dungeon you enter is a new one, and as long as someone in your party successfully leaves, you'll receive a large amount of loot.

Unfortunately, the drop rate of Catacombs for Umbral Shard farming is quite low, making it unsuitable as a mainstream PvE farming method. It should only be used as a supplement to other materials you're looking to earn.

Buy New World Season 10 Nighthaven Coins At IGGM.com - Up To 5% OFF

    Mutations

Mutations are essentially mutated versions of standard Expeditions, enhancing the enemies and bosses in standard Expeditions. Therefore, they are essentially endgame content. Three Expeditions will mutate weekly, each with three difficulty levels.

Undoubtedly, farming the most difficult Mutation will yield the most Umbral Shards, but given its high difficulty, it's difficult to unlock them quickly, especially since Season 10 has only been online for a week.

As for the first two difficulty levels, the current problem is that the challenge isn't proportional to Umbral Shard drop rate, making them unworthy of your full effort.

    Elite Chest Runs

This event takes place throughout the day in New World Aeternum. Simply send a message in the world channel to invite other players to join you in clearing Elite zones or Strongholds to obtain chests and unlock the desired rewards.

    Currently available zones include:

    • Imperial Palace
    • Attalus's Foundry
    • Mangled Heights
    • Scorched Mines
    • Myrkgard known
    • Malevolence known
    • Eternal Pool
    • Forecastle Drift
    • Cayo De La Muerte

Compared to the previous two PvE modes, Elite Chest Runs are easier to complete and yield approximately 150 Umbral Crystals per 10 minutes of play, a very good drop rate!

    Optimal Farming Strategy

Based on the above methods, we recommend completing various PvP modes and clearing Elite zones as your primary method of farming Umbral Shards in the early stages of Season 10. If you're lucky, you might also find unexpected gains in Catacombs!

Regardless of which farming method you use, you ultimately need to fight to achieve your goal. To ensure you can successfully defeat your enemies, be sure to stockpile enough coins in advance so you can exchange them for more powerful gear.

For this reason, most New World gold customers choose IGGM as the best platform for acquiring large amounts of coins! Now you can enjoy discounts when buying 60K gold or more!

  • New World Aeternum Season 10 Best Weapon Builds & Artifacts Guide | Inferno Fire Staff, Gear Perks, And DPS Combos Explained

    Posted: Oct 17, 2025

New World Season 10, Nighthaven, has significantly overhauled the equipment system. Weapon perks and stats have been largely reworked, and the addition of set items is a significant change.

This is both a good and a bad thing. Players will need to rethink their weapon combinations. While Season 9's weapons may not be as powerful, experimenting with them is a joy in itself. Below are some recommended builds. While these may not be the most powerful, they will definitely allow you to deliver undeniable damage in battle.

New World Aeternum Season 10 Best Weapon Builds & Artifacts Guide | Inferno Fire Staff, Gear Perks, And DPS Combos Explained

    Essential Artifacts

    Inferno (Fire Staff)

Inferno is currently the most indispensable artifact and a must-have for PvE damage. It increases damage dealt to targets within 15 meters by 15%. It's best paired with Rapier and Hatchet, as both offer decent attack speed and damage, and Rapier also provides some survivability. Hatchet, on the other hand, needs to forgo Social Distancing and opt for Rending Throw, applying Rend effect to the boss, increasing the team's damage by 20%. You can obtain this artifact within five runs of Empyrean Forge expedition to Great Cleave on mutated difficulty.

Old Crown (Headwear) And Nimble Coat (Chestwear)

Old Crown and Nimble Coat aren't as important as the Inferno, but each has its own significance. Old Crown's advantage is its +6 to all stats and the ability to open three gem sockets. Improving all stats can significantly increase your damage, and gems are crucial in Season 10. They not only provide damage reduction but also provide Rune Classes, each of which provides additional damage, significantly improving your build.

However, Nimble Coat delivers the most damage. It pairs exceptionally well with Rapier, while Old Crown only works well with Greatsword, which isn't heavily ability-dependent. Both are primarily obtained through PvP track.

    Blooddrinker (Ring Jewelry)

Jewelry artifacts aren't particularly important. Blooddrinker is the recommended artifact. It provides significant lifesteal, allowing you to maintain your effectiveness without a tank or healer, and even take on bosses solo. If you prefer solo play, you absolutely must try it. It's primarily dropped by Greundgul the Regent in Starstone Barrow.

    Weapon Combinations

    Melee DPS

Great Sword can serve as a DPS weapon, similar to the Inferno, but is slightly less powerful than Rapie or Axe combo. It's more commonly used for tanking, combining it with a Great Sword and Hammer or a Great Sword and Sword and Shield.

Great Axe is very effective in melee combat, thanks primarily to its Reap, which pulls nearby enemies toward you and taunts them. Combined with Hammer's Shockwave and Path of Destiny abilities, it can be used to mow down smaller enemies.

It also synergizes with Spear, whose abilities grant various debuffs like Rend and Pierce, Weakness, and Bleeding, making it extremely useful against bosses. However, be aware that Rend effect doesn't stack infinitely within a group; similar effects only apply at the highest value, so avoid duplicating weapons when forming a group.

    Ranged DPS

In Season 10, if you want to participate in Nighthaven raid, the best combination is a Blunderbuss + Fire Staff. However, to maximize your damage, your Fire Staff must be an Inferno, and your other weapons must be upgraded to their GS using New World coins and materials.

But for casual players, are there other options? Of course, there are some. Musket + Void Gauntlet or Bow + Void Gauntlet or Rapier both deal decent damage. For Void Gauntlet artifact, choose Lifetaker, while for Rapier artifact, choose Finisher.

Ice Gauntlet is no longer a Mate damage weapon in Season 10, but it can still be used as a secondary weapon or for control DPS in large-scale PVP.

    Healer

Healer received adjustments in Season 10, but its role hasn't changed much. If you want to effectively support a team, the best combination is Life Staff + Void Gauntlet.

    Core Perks And Gems

Before introducing perks, I'd like to remind you that old enchantments no longer stack with new ones, and these will be fixed soon, so don't invest in them. Here are recommend perks:

    • Sacrificial Empowerment II: Increases damage. It's best to have this perk on every piece of gear.
    • Enchanted Ward: Reduces damage from light and heavy attacks. Equip multiple of this perk to stack.
    • Keenly Empowered: Increases damage on critical hits. This perk is suitable for every class.
    • Keenly Jagged: Apply a powerful DoT effect on critical hits.
    • Prolonged Favor II: Extends the duration of a buff by 10%. Ideal for builds that prioritize dot-time buffs.
    • Refreshing: Reduces skill and potion cooldowns, and this perk is valuable for all your classes.
    • Attunement Perks: Increases weapon damage. While currently very strong, it's expected to be nerfed soon. It can be combined with other perks.
    • Vicious: Increases critical hit damage.
    • Enchanted: Increases light and heavy attack damage. Ideal for weapons with fast attack speed.

New World: Aeternum Season 10 offers a wide range of gear and weapon combinations. You can freely combine and match excellent combinations to optimize melee and ranged DPS based on your available gear.

In Season 10, collecting artifacts and upgrading your weapon's GS will consume a lot of items. However, if you have enough coins, you can significantly shorten the process. IGGM currently has a lot of cheap and secure New World gold on sale. If you're feeling tired during the game, you might want to use it to relax.

  • New World Season 10 Artifacts Guide | How To Obtain Incinerating Hatchet, Contagious Plague And More?

    Posted: Oct 15, 2025

As you adventure through the open world of New World Aeternum, you'll need reliable gear to combat potential enemies and earn rewards by completing battles and leveling up. Artifacts are a rare and powerful type of gear.

New World typically releases a fluctuating number of new artifacts with each new season, and may also retain some artifacts from previous seasons, though they'll be more difficult to obtain.

Unlike regular gear, which can be redeemed for New World coins, artifacts must be earned by completing more challenging seasonal content or making sufficient progress in the rewards track. The combat benefits they provide make them a worthwhile investment.

New World Aeternum Season 10, which launched on October 13th, introduces two new artifacts and restructures the entire artifact system, particularly making older artifacts more reliable.

Below is a list of these two new artifacts and how to obtain them, as well as the way to get Crescent's Wave, the most popular artifact from Season 9, in the new season.

New World Season 10 Artifacts Guide | How To Obtain Incinerating Hatchet, Contagious Plague And More?

    Crescent's Wave - Season 9

Although Season 9 has ended, Crescent's Wave is still worth using in battle. Essentially, it's a greatsword piece of gear that grants you ranged magic attacks through unstable arcane energy, creating a long-range, high-damage burst.

In Season 9, this artifact was a Tier 20 reward in the free Season Pass, but if you missed it then, you'll now need to travel to high-level zones and participate in portal runs to earn it.

    Incinerating Hatchet

This was a higher-tier free Season Pass reward from Season 10, requiring at least Tier 20 to earn - sort of like a Season 10 version of Crescent's Wave. This artifact has a unique incineration effect, inflicting additional incineration when you use it on ranged attacks.

If you accumulate three stacks of this incineration effect on an enemy, your next ranged attack will trigger an explosion. And consuming all stacks and dealing burst damage and 100% weapon damage to all enemies in the designated area.

This artifact also has a weapon mastery skill slot and an offensive skill slot, into which you can add your preferred perks. The Incinerating Hatchet also comes with two fixed perks: Distained Infliction II and Mortal Aggression II.

It's important to note that, unlike the other two new Season 10 artifacts to be introduced later, the Incinerating Hatchet isn't truly "new," but rather a potential build idea for Freya's Francisca artifact.

Furthermore, given that Incinerating Hatchet's acquisition method in Season 10 is very similar to Crescent's Wave's in Season 9, it's possible to obtain this Hatchet in Season 11.

    Contagious Plague

This artifact is a bow. Its unique perk, Contagion, fires poisonous arrows. Direct hits trigger a vortex, sucking nearby enemies in and creating an Infected Cloud that lasts for 5 minutes. For 10 seconds, enemies caught in the cloud receive 25% poison damage per second.

Like Incinerating Hatchet, this bow has one weapon mastery slot and one offensive slot, as well as two fixed perks: Distained Infliction II and Plagued Strikes II.

To obtain Contagious Plague, you need to defeat the level 75 spider boss, Uttu, located west of Everfall settlement in Nighthaven, newly released in Season 10.

As you approach your destination, you can save time by jumping directly from the clifftop into a specific area in the castle, skipping the main cave path. Then, kill the spider bosses that spawn in the center of this area until an arcane card spawns.

Note that as an artifact, Contagious Plague is a rare drop, so you may need to kill the spider multiple times to obtain it. The boss's respawn cooldown is approximately 5 minutes.

What Changes Have Been Made To The Artifact System In Season 10?

In addition to the new artifacts, several older artifacts have been updated, optimized, or even reworked in Season 10.

First, the stat scaling of Inferno, The Abyss, and Lifetaker now works correctly under the new system. Issues with Vengeance not triggering on critical hits, as well as issues with stamina and mana regeneration not being as expected, have been fixed.

Crescent's Wave artifact from Season 9, which we also introduced earlier, now only triggers its Heavy Blade passive on melee critical hits to prevent wasted triggering opportunities.

Other artifacts and their effects are as follows:

    • Old Crown: Now has three swappable gem slots, and the number of stats it provides has been reduced to compensate for the stat adjustments.
    • Attuned Leather Pants: Now has a reduced number of stats it provides to compensate for the stat adjustments.
    • Featherweight: Now slows you by 8% for 4 seconds while staggering.
    • Tumbler Feetwraps: Reduced power from 15% to 10%, and reduced buff from 25% to 18%. Serenity: Reduced the duration of the empower and enhancement abilities from 5 seconds to 4 seconds.
    • The Unmoved: Reflects damage from the attacker's back. 16% Void damage, with a 1-second cooldown.
    • Blooddrinker: Reduced the downside from 25% to 20%. Furthermore, the damage reduction is smaller if the target is diseased.
    • Gilli's Gravity Gauntlets: Increased the power of each charge and reduced the maximum number of charges.
    • Freya's Francisca: Provides a bonus effect, dealing 25% chain damage to nearby targets when triggered.
    • Dorgort's Blade: Consumes burn damage and deals the remaining damage once, similar to a finishing move.
    • Plgueherald Mask: Increases the power of self-inflicted diseases from 1% to 2%.

That's all the information we've gathered about the artifacts in New World Season 10. If you're interested in the new artifacts' effects, follow our guide to get them as soon as possible!

Farming the new artifacts requires completing various quests or defeating specific bosses. To ensure you complete the game in one go, we recommend buying cheap and quick New World coins at IGGM!

  • New World Season 10 Nighthaven Best Weapons For PvE & PvP | Expert Guide

    Posted: Oct 13, 2025

After days of anticipation, New World Season 10: Nighthaven has finally officially launched! If you've stockpiled enough coins and supplies, it's time to begin your exploration of the new main story and battle modes!

As an experienced New World player, you already understand the importance of battle preparation. This requires not only adequate consumables and tactics adapted to each mode, but also effective weapons specifically tailored to your needs.

While Season 10 new content focuses primarily on PvE combat, PvP remains a vital component of the game, and you can unlock even more items through PvP reward tracks.

To ensure you can earn rewards in both PvE and PvP while minimizing the hassle of changing gear, we've recommended several of the best Season 10 weapons for both modes.

New World Season 10 Nighthaven Best Weapons For PvE & PvP | Expert Guide

    Three Ranged Weapons

These three weapons are the bow, musket, and the artifact Blender Bus. We've grouped them together because they offer similar synergies and can be enhanced with infixes in Season 10 to deliver powerful combat effects.

Infixes are actually a perk that grants regular gear effects similar to those of artifacts. For example, in Season 10, melee attacks with ranged weapons within a 10-meter range will deal 20% more damage.

This perk allows you to deal even more damage with rifles and bows, and with Blender Bus, the alternating enchantment allows your basic attacks to continue dealing bonus damage for 5 seconds after hitting an enemy.

It's true that artifacts are still more reliable than regular weapons. At least with Blender Bus's infix perk, your next attack's base damage increases by a certain percentage when you use a skill. Combined with Blender Bus's one-piece perk, your damage is doubled.

Furthermore, infixes require you to be within 13 meters of the target to function. This can be a challenge for bow and musket players, but with Blender Bus, everything becomes easily manageable.

    How To Enhance These Weapons?

While infixes are already impressive, you can increase the damage output of these three ranged weapons with offensive slots. These slots grant you thrust control through thrust damage, increasing the damage dealt by light and heavy weapons with these slots by 2.5%.

Building on this, you can also pair perks like Keenly Jagged or Keenly Empowered, which are very effective for these ranged weapons, especially if you use Blender Bus, which grants additional buffs.

    • Keenly Jagged: Critical hits cause bleeding, dealing 10% weapon damage per second for 6 seconds, but with a 7-second cooldown.
    • Keenly Empowered: Critical hits grant 10% Empower for 5 seconds, but with a 10-second cooldown.

Alternatively, Sundering Stacks is a great perk for these three weapons. It grants 4% Rent stacks when attacking with these weapons, up to 5 stacks, each lasting 6 seconds.

It's worth mentioning that Trenchant Strikes is a very suitable perk for bow, allowing you to instantly kill your opponent with a powerful bow strike.

Melee Weapons More Suitable For PvE

If the above three weapons have a wide range of applications, then the following will introduce several melee weapons that are more suitable for PvE.

First, let's take a look at Tier 5 artifact Serenity. This weapon is a Greatsword, with the following attributes and benefits:

    • 75 Base Damage
    • 7.0% Critical Hit Chance
    • 1.25 Critical Damage Multiplier
    • 60.0 Block Stamina Damage
    • 60.0 Stagger Damage
    • 34% Block Stability
    • 221 Slash Damage
    • +38 Magnify
    • Trenchant Strikes
    • Balanced Blade
    • Refreshing Move
    • Trenchant Crits
    • 100% Random Perk

Building on this, you can have Serenity deal an additional 20% damage with a heavy attack while in rage, consuming three stacks of attack. Combined with other enchantment sets, this can further increase the damage of heavy attacks and normal attacks.

Another good Tier 5 artifact is Inferno, which primarily increases your secondary damage by 15% within a 15-meter range.

Thanks to the addition of set bonuses in Season 10, you can now use Enraged Set Bonus on the hatchet, one of our PvE weapons, to increase your damage by 25% at max level and deal an additional 8 damage when your health drops below 70%.

More importantly, you don't have to worry about losing health, as the hatchet's Berserk skill is undead, meaning even when your health reaches minimum, you still have extra health to use.

    Better PvP Weapons

For the current Season 10 PvP mode, Greatsword-type weapons are likely the best. They gain an 8% buff with each block, stacking up to three times.

For this reason, we recommend adding some extra tankiness to your Greatsword in PvP. When you're fighting against enemies, you're constantly blocking, and with the right perks, you can maintain near-100% defense, maximizing your buff.

Other good PvP weapons include Void Gauntlets. It removes the duration of positive effects on enemies within its radius and increases negative effects by 30%. Stacking DoTs provides a significant damage boost.

If you can obtain Flail artifacts, using them to complete PvP battles is also a good choice. When combined with burst perks, each stack of damage reduction increases damage dealt to enemies by 16%, stacking up to three times.

These are the best weapons for New World Aeternum Season 10. As the season progresses, you may find more powerful weapons that suit you better, so feel free to update your arsenal as needed!

Early in the season, unlocking high-level weapons or artifacts through the rewards track is unlikely. To improve combat efficiency, you'll need to consume coins to buy useful basic weapons.

While you can farm coins yourself, it's a repetitive and time-consuming process. For this reason, IGGM has launched cheap and safe New World coins trading service! Shopping on the corresponding page now, you can even enjoy extra discounts if you buy enough!

  • New World Aeternum Season 9 Top Weapon XP Farming Locations For Nighthaven

    Posted: Sep 26, 2025

New World Season 10, Nighthaven, will begin on October 13th. Due to changes to the weapon system, only weapons with a Gear Score of 700 or higher can be upgraded to 800. So, in preparation for the next season, whether you're a new player, a veteran, or a returning player, it's crucial to level up your weapons now.

Double Weapon XP Week is happening from now until September 29th, making it the perfect time to farm weapon XP. Here are some of the best locations to farm weapon XP.

New World Aeternum Season 9 Top Weapon XP Farming Locations For Nighthaven

No.6 Commander Thorpe, In Great Cleave

You need to travel to a designated location on Great Cleave map to participate in Thorpe world event. This event involves waiting for and defeating several waves of monsters before ultimately killing the boss, Commander Thorpe. Defeating him will earn you New World coins, XP, and Weapon Mastery.

This is the least recommended area. While it may have been a good place in the past, it has become a common raiding location and is now frequently overcrowded, significantly impacting the farming experience. Furthermore, changes have increased monster spawn intervals, further reducing farming efficiency.

    No.5 Elite Chest Runs

Elite Chest Runs are a variety of activities where you join a group and travel to a high-level elite area like Brimstone Sands. The group will follow a fixed route, clearing all elite monsters along the way and unlocking a large number of Elite Chests.

The main advantage of this method is the additional rewards. You can get a large amount of equipment and crafting materials from the chests, while weapon XP is more of a secondary benefit. Therefore, this method is not very efficient. However, during Double XP Week, groups tend to clear all monsters. If your primary goal is to obtain equipment and upgrade your weapons as a secondary goal, then this event is a good choice for you.

    No.4 Brightwood Isle

In the elite area of Brightwood Isle, players can freely and repeatedly clear monsters to gain experience. This area is very suitabe for new players who have just reached max level. As it's a lower-level elite zone with relatively easy monsters, it's a great place for players who've just reached level 65 to get used to the game and accumulate gear before moving on to the more difficult elite zones. However, its downside is that it's well known, so it might attract a lot of players.

    No.3 Restless Shore Pirate Encampments

There are two Pirate Encampments located very close together in Restless Shore. First, you need to reach the first encampment, gather all the monsters within, and then quickly clear them with powerful AoE abilities. You'll need to wait for the monsters to spawn, but if you have a mount, you can skip this wait.

You'll need to immediately ride to the second encampment and repeat the gathering and AoE clearing process. By the time you've cleared the second encampment, the monsters in the first encampment will have mostly spawned, allowing you to return and continue the cycle.

No.2 Eden Grove, Tor To-Riven (Lifering) Farming

This farming location is located in Eden Grove area. You'll need to join a Lifering farming group through the recruitment channel. Your team will gather at a fixed location to fight a constant stream of monsters together.

In team mode, you can quickly clear large groups of monsters with AoE skills. Besides weapon XP, your primary goal is to obtain Lifering equipment, which is very valuable and useful. Elite chests and other rewards are also available around the area. Overall, this location is highly efficient for farming and provides valuable equipment, making it highly recommended.

No.1 Brimstone Sands, Glob of Ectoplasm

This is currently the most recommended method. Located in Brimstone Sands, you'll need to recruit a Glob-related team on the recruitment channel. The team will gather in a very small area, where monsters spawn at a high frequency and density, allowing you to fight almost non-stop from one location.

This area offers the fastest monster spawn rate of the centralized methods, making it the most efficient. Monsters killed in this area also consistently drop a material called Glob of Ectoplasm. This material is required for advanced crafting and is currently in high demand, selling for around 90 coins each. This makes it a perfect spot to kill two birds with one stone: you can quickly level your weapons to level 20 while earning tons of New World Gold.

    Notes

    • 1. Double Weapon XP Week event runs until September 29th. Players who need it can take advantage of it.
    • 2. There are also Weapon XP Booster in Season 9 Pass, and use them immediately before you start farming to avoid wasting their duration.
    • 3. Whether farming solo or in a group, you should use your AoE skills frequently. Once you hit a monster with your skills, you'll share the weapon XP upon its death.
    • 4. Since the currently held weapon gains full XP, the off-hand weapon gains a portion. If you want to prioritize a particular weapon, always hold it in your main hand.

These are the fastest ways to farm weapon XP. You can actually combine these methods. For example, you could farm in Restless Shore while looking for a group you could join. I'm sure you'll be able to win in Season 10 Nighthaven. Upgrade your weapons to the maximum level before arriving.

In addition to increasing your weapon's level, upgrading your weapon's Gear Score also requires a significant amount of materials and coins. Many players don't have the time to farm these materials, but other players will sell them.

If you also need to increase your Gear Score but don't have enough coins, IGGM.com offers a variety of quick and reliable New World coins for sale, saving you the time of farming for coins.

  • New World Aeternum Season 9 Adjusting Various Settings For More Efficient Gameplay

    Posted: Sep 23, 2025

While the core of playing New World Aeternum is completing quests and challenges by continuously leveling up your character and collecting more materials and gear, there are also several factors outside of combat that constantly impact your gaming experience.

Outside of the game, this factor might be your device's performance. In-game, your game settings can also affect your quest completion efficiency in various ways - in fact, most MMORPGs, including New World, have complex settings.

With this in mind, this time we'll introduce a streamlined and efficient setup based on the ongoing Season 9 basic game settings. If you don't have your own setup style yet, you can refer to our suggestions.

New World Aeternum Season 9 Adjusting Various Settings For More Efficient Gameplay

    Inventory Settings

The inventory system is perhaps the most fundamental yet complex part of the settings. It's where you'll find everything from New World coins you earn to various other in-game items, and you can monitor your inventory in real time.

We recommend keeping potions and food in easily accessible locations, as you'll likely need them urgently during combat. Next up are weapons and armor, as you'll likely need to switch between them for different battles.

As for other miscellaneous items, like fishing items or craft mods, since they're less important, you can simply place them toward the bottom. As for coins, the game also displays the number you have directly on screen.

Alternatively, you can use the sorting options to arrange your inventory in any way you like. For example, if you sort by gear score after completing a mission and earning a large amount of loot, you can immediately check the gear score and discard the unworthy items.

Also, you'll notice that the filter is next to the search bar in the inventory settings. Here, you can change the two columns to a single one, making the inventory look wider and more attractive, and you can also adjust the way items are displayed.

    Map Settings

First, if you're a new player or returning to New World Aeternum after a long absence, you may notice that the map doesn't have faction colors when you open it, making it difficult to determine whether to travel to certain zones. Simply click the filter tab on the left to display them.

At the bottom of the map settings screen, you can see the faction influence and territory size of each faction. While you may not necessarily want to engage in PvP, understanding these settings can help you avoid accidentally entering enemy faction zones.

    Game Settings

While game settings won't significantly affect your combat success rate, improperly setting them can make combat feel restrictive and uncomfortable. First, we recommend disabling camera shake and enabling tilt zoom.

This will give you a wider perspective during enormous battles, especially boss fights, allowing you to see more of your surroundings, or help you see through walls and objects in PvP scenarios.

If you want to better control your combat perspective, you can also try disabling vertical camera smoothing.

As for game options, if you want to more clear identify enemies and allies, you can set them to different, uniform colors. For mounts, you can set them to auto-run, which will automatically continue along a set route.

The most important aspect of this section is HUD layout. The default is to have the stamina bar and mana bar in the center, but you can adjust their positions to suit your taste or preferences.

For example, you can use side-by-side mode, position them relative to the edges of the screen, or move them closer to the center of the screen, bringing your health or stamina bar closer to your character so you can always keep track of their status.

Note that HUD layout will be changing in Season 10, allowing you to fully customize your HUD.

Also, if you frequently play PvP, you can increase the font size of player names and game counts from the default 15 to a higher value to more easily identify enemies and allies around you.

You can also enable prioritize group nameplates, especially if you play a healer role. This will allow you to more quickly see who's in your party and who you can heal.

Buy New World Aeternum Coins At IGGM.com Up to 5% OFF

    Healing Settings

Speaking of healing, healing settings are naturally important. It's recommended to enable targeted healing. Then, disable follow target lock, aim re-aim, and stick lock.

This way, you can look around freely, see which teammates are injured, and heal them without having to worry about the camera being locked on a specific target.

    Keyboard Settings

For keyboard and mouse settings, I strongly recommend using free movement. Otherwise, if you try to move in a circle, you'll have to rotate your camera accordingly, which is very cumbersome and looks silly.

Also, I recommend enabling camera direction for melee attacks. This allows you to attack enemies directly from your camera position when attacking them within melee range.

If you're a healer, you can use hot-keys to lock onto your team's target. This allows you to cycle between groups while completing raids with your teammates, especially useful when completing Hive of Gorgons raid.

    Key Binding Settings

This section is primarily for healers. If you want to further improve your healing efficiency, it's best to avoid using the scroll wheel to select targets and instead set key bindings for specific teammates.

In addition, in group mode, you can set the group member targeting option. If you only want to heal members in your group, enable it. If you want to heal outside of your group, disable it.

That's the main points for this introduction. It's important to note that after Season 10 launches, you'll need to adjust your settings in a timely manner based on game changes, such as HUD layout - the core of optimal game settings should actually be flexibility.

  • New World Aeternum Season 10 Everything Returning Players Must Do When Jumping Back In

    Posted: Sep 22, 2025

New World Aeternum Season 10, launching on October 13th, will bring a massive content update, allowing you to experience new stories, raids, and more for free.

This update has not only attracted a wave of new players, but also encouraged some veterans to return to the game.

If you're a veteran player planning to do so, we recommend not waiting until Season 10 will be released to return. Instead, you can start preparing early before Season 10 to gain an extra advantage in Season 10.

With this in mind, we'll cover the essential preparations for returning players.

New World Aeternum Season 10 Everything Returning Players Must Do When Jumping Back In

Learn More About Season 10 New Content In Advance

While you won't be able to play the new season right away, the more you learn about it, the faster you'll be able to integrate. Season 10 focuses on vampires and werewolves and introduces a new chapter, Tear of Gaea, with the opening of Nighthaven zone.

Additionally, you'll be able to play the new Isle of Night raid this season, marking the first time New World Aeternum has added a ten-player raid. Another notable feature is the new Catacombs mode.

Season 10 also features systematic optimizations and upgrades to the endgame content, ensuring you'll have a consistently challenging and enriching experience as your level and abilities increase.

    Promptly Claim Returning Rewards

To encourage returning players and compensate for lost progress during your absence, New World may offer additional returning rewards, such as New World coins, special gear, or other materials.

Returning rewards are typically more substantial with major updates, while rewards offered by regular seasonal updates are less significant. Regardless, they're worthwhile.

    Prepare A Ready-To-Play PvE Build

For the first two or three seasons, New World Aeternum's development focused on PvP gameplay, as evidenced by the addition of Capture the Flag mode. Therefore, Season 10 is expected to shift the focus to PvE.

If you're a returning player and want to better adapt to this transition, it's best to find a PvE build that works for you as soon as possible so you can quickly start farming coins or XP by completing PvE content once the new season begins.

    Stock Up On Coins

In addition to rewards, it's also important to farm coins for Season 10 through your own efforts. One of the best ways to do this is to play a tank or healer role and participate in Expeditions - DPS bonus is smaller.

You can also earn more coins by participating in PvP content, crafting armor, weapons, and jewelry matrices, or selling schematics for coins. Event boxes are also found in various cities, which also provide coins.

    Complete Side Quests

If you don't have the time or interest to pursue the lengthy main storyline quests in Season 9, we recommend completing some optional side quests. While they may not offer much in the way of rewards, they are relatively easy to complete.

More importantly, as a returning player, you may have forgotten some of the game's basic mechanics and storyline. Completing side quests can help you refresh your memory without losing out, preventing mistakes during the new season.

    Farm Mystic Doubloons

Mystic Doubloons are a special in-game currency that can be exchanged for rarer equipment, artifacts, and crafting materials. Therefore, accumulating enough Doubloons before the start of Season 10 will help you make immediate progress at the start of the season.

Participate In Double Weapon XP Events

To help you progress, New World Aeternum typically hosts a Double Weapon XP event, which will be held before the start of the new season, and will last approximately a week between .

Participating in this event allows you to quickly gain a large amount of Weapon XP, eliminating the need to struggle to gain it after the new season begins. Generally, the best locations for farming weapon XP are Great Cleave and Brightwood Isle.

Save The Recipe To Complete Crafting

If you're a returning player, you should know that many items in New World Aeternum can only be obtained through crafting. You can even craft extra items in your spare time for coins.

For this reason, we recommend crafting every recipe, as the first crafting grants triple XP. Once you reach crafting skill level 200, you can use shards to obtain the recipe.

This will allow you to quickly level up after Season 10 begins without wasting extra time farming XP. Scrap can be obtained by disenchanting items or trading them at a trading post.

Complete Hive Of Gorgons Endgame Raid

Hive of Gorgons is a raid available in the game that can help you obtain the 725 gear score PvE set before Season 10 begins. While it's not the only source of the set, it's the most likely source of drops.

Eventually, you might obtain a Gorgonite Inductor, which can be used to craft and upgrade to 725 gear score items. You'll also have a chance to earn Azoth Conductors, Chromatic Seals, and more rewards.

Overall, returning players will find Season 10 less stressful than new players. So if you have the time, head back to New World Aeternum now and start preparing for a smooth Season 10 launch!
