  • MLB The Show 25 Postseason Past Program Guide: How To Earn 99 OVR Cards And More Rewards?

    Posted: Sep 27, 2025

To ensure you're consuming extra time in the game beyond regular modes, or to make your MLB The Show 25 experience more purposeful than casual, new programs are regularly released.

These programs require you to complete specific tasks to earn points. When your total reaches a certain threshold, you'll receive a reward - perhaps XP, stubs, card packs, or rare players.

One of the newest programs available is Postseason Past, which launched on September 26th. It's so named because the three 99 OVR cards included in the program are previously released postseason cards in MLB 25, but now they're even better.

We'll introduce these four card rewards and a guide to completing this Postseason Past program.

MLB The Show 25 Postseason Past Program Guide: How To Earn 99 OVR Cards And More Rewards?

    Postseason Past Program Overview

To celebrate 2025 MLB Postseason, MLB The Show 25 launched Postseason Past program in-game on September 26th, allowing you to experience the real-world atmosphere of the game in the virtual world.

This program offers 10 rewards, the highest level requiring 100 points. The remaining rewards require progressively fewer points based on rarity (each 10 points corresponds to a level).

Additionally, missions that provide points include three Program PXP Missions, each granting 10 points, as well as 15 Moments and optional PXP Missions. You can choose which ones to complete based on their difficulty and your abilities.

    All Postseason Past Program Missions

To help you plan your Postseason Past program completion plan more accurately, we've listed all the missions below:

    Moments Missions:

    • There are 15 of these, each granting 5 points.

    Program PXP Missions:

    • Using a 99 OVR Hampson, earn 350 PXP, granting 10 points.
    • Using a 99 OVR Rosario, earn 350 PXP, granting 10 points.
    • Using a 99 OVR Taylor, earn 350 PXP, granting 10 points.

Optional PXP Missions - Earn 500 PXP using any of the following players:

    • Freddie Freeman
    • Bob Gibson
    • Jose Bautista
    • Garrett Hampson
    • Randy Johnson
    • David Ortiz
    • Bill Mazeroski
    • Chris Taylor
    • Tom Glavine
    • George Springer
    • Ozzie Smith
    • Eddie Rosario
    • Jorge Soler
    • Corey Seager
    • Roy Halladay

Best Strategy For Completing This Program

Because each mission provides relatively few points, it's recommended to prioritize unlocking the first three card rewards after completing approximately 11 Moments missions, then use them to complete the corresponding missions to instantly earn 30 points.

Alternatively, if you have enough players for the optional PXP Missions, you can also use them to complete this Postseason Past program. It's often faster to use existing players' cards than to unlock new ones.

    What Rewards Can You Earn?

There are 10 tiers of rewards for this program, as follows:

    • 10 Points: 5,000 XP
    • 20 Points: 99 OVR The Show Classics Garrett Hampson
    • 30 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack (x3)
    • 40 Points: 99 OVR The Show Classics Chris Taylor
    • 50 Points: 5,000 XP
    • 60 Points: 99 OVR The Show Classics Eddie Rosario
    • 70 Points: MLB The Show 25 pack (x3)
    • 80 Points: 5,000 XP
    • 90 Points: Deluxe Choice pack

How To Get 99 OVR Xavier Edwards Card?

Notably, along with the launch of Postseason Past program, MLB 25 also offers the opportunity to destroy Live Series cards to craft the new 99 OVR Milestone Xavier Edwards player card.

To do this, you'll need to own Live Series cards with a total in-game value of no more than 500,000. Then, go to the redemption menu, view your existing cards, and select enough low-OVR cards to meet the crafting requirements. To do this:

    • 1. Find Collect section in the main menu and click Exchanges on the right.
    • 2. Find and click Exchange Players, then scroll down to find 99 OVR Xavier Edwards and complete the exchange.

Note that cards locked in your Live Series collection cannot be destroyed, and it's best not to craft with cards with an OVR higher than 85, as this will lead to unnecessary consumption.

In addition to 99 OVR Xavier Edwards card, this exchange also rewards you with 1,000 XP.

While MLB 25 hasn't introduced any particularly innovative gameplay recently, if you're already a baseball fan, these real-world baseball-related programs are enough to keep you entertained. Have fun!

Besides completing the app to earn player cards or packs, if you want to get your desired player faster, you can buy MLB 25 players on IGGM related page. And simply enter the player's information in the top right corner to find the item you're looking for even faster!

    • 14. 70 Points: All-Star Game Premier Pack
    • 15. 75 Points: 5,000 XP and 99 OVR 2025 All-Star Kyle Schwarber

Although All-Star Game Program only has 15 rewards, it has 5 MLB The Show 25 Players, and their lowest rating is 95 points, and each of them can be the main force of the team.

    95 OVR Draft Mason Neville

    • Contact Right: 93
    • Contact Left: 92
    • Power Right: 109
    • Power Left: 107
    • Vision: 58
    • Discipline: 97
    • Clutch: 94
    • Bunt: 35
    • Drag Bunt: 25
    • Durability: 90

Mason Neville is an MLB rookie who was recently selected by Cincinnati Reds in the fourth round of the draft and will be joining the team as an outfielder. He hit over than 20 home runs for Oregon Ducks during his time with the team and is a powerful hitter, as you can see from his Power.

    95 OVR 2025 All-Star Andrew Abbott

    • Stamina: 96
    • H/9: 97
    • K/9: 86
    • BB/9: 93
    • HR/9: 80
    • Pitch Clutch: 125
    • Control: 92
    • Velocity: 66
    • Break: 91

Andrew Abbott joined Cincinnati Reds in 2021 and was selected as an All-Star in 2025. He is the 51st left-handed starting pitcher in MLB 25. Although his ranking is not at the top, this is definitely an excellent card. Besides the lack of velocity, he has almost no weaknesses.

    96 OVR 2025 All-Star Isaac Paredes

    • Contact Right: 105
    • Contact Left: 82
    • Power Right: 112
    • Power Left: 110
    • Vision: 95
    • Discipline: 95
    • Clutch: 93
    • Bunt: 35
    • Drag Bunt: 25
    • Durability: 95

Isaac Paredes is the No. 25 third baseman in MLB 25 and a versatile infielder for Houston Astros. Although he was selected for 2025 All-Star Game, he missed this year’s event because of family reasons, but he will be back soon.

    98 OVR 2025 All-Star Kyle Tucker

    • Contact Right: 110
    • Contact Left: 100
    • Power Right: 100
    • Power Left: 102
    • Vision: 100
    • Discipline: 100
    • Clutch: 102
    • Bunt: 35
    • Drag Bunt: 25
    • Durability: 96

Kyle Tucker has less than three months left as the right fielder of Cubs. Whether he can renew his contract with the current team is a matter of concern to many fans, and at least he is still participating in All-Star Game for Cubs.

Kyle Tucker has always been a star player. He has very precise control over his swing, and his hits and power are just right, and his card ranks fifth among right fielders.

    99 OVR 2025 All-Star Kyle Schwarber

    • Contact Right: 115
    • Contact Left: 120
    • Power Right: 125
    • Power Left: 125
    • Vision: 92
    • Discipline: 109
    • Clutch: 125
    • Bunt: 35
    • Drag Bunt: 25
    • Durability: 99

Kyle Schwarber, as the final reward of 2025 All-Star Game Program, has the best power attribute among all players. What’s scary is that his contact is almost impeccable, which may be related to his three home runs in 2025 All-Star Game.

Kyle Schwarber is Phillies left fielder. This card ranks second in MLB 25. The only MLB 25 player who is better than him is 99 OVR Ted Williams.

    • HR/9: 96
    • Pitch Clutch: 102
    • Control: 75
    • Velocity: 99
    • Break: 99

Camilo Doval is a Giants reliever, and this card ranks 22nd among all relievers. Camilo Doval has very fast pitching velocity, and his slider is very difficult to hit because of his low release point.

    91 OVR Summer Catfish Hunter

    • Stamina: 110
    • H/9: 92
    • K/9: 77
    • BB/9: 80
    • HR/9: 88
    • Pitch Clutch: 109
    • Control: 80
    • Velocity: 72
    • Break: 95

Catfish Hunter represents the relief pitcher of Athletics. This pitcher who has been fighting against illness all his life is ranked lower than Camilo Doval at only 39th, but he can use five pitches, and his 4-Seam Fastball and slider are also very good.

    91 OVR Summer Michael Toglia

    • Contact Right: 70
    • Contact Left: 83
    • Power Right: 107
    • Power Left: 118
    • Vision: 48
    • Discipline: 82
    • Clutch: 61
    • Bunt: 35
    • Drag Bunt: 25
    • Durability: 95

Michael Toglia ranks 49th among first basemen. He is a switch-hitter. Although his contact attribute is average, his power attribute is very good, which allows him to hit home runs more often.

    92 OVR Summer Jeremy Pena

    • Contact Right: 90
    • Contact Left: 109
    • Power Right: 78
    • Power Left: 72
    • Vision: 83
    • Discipline: 50
    • Clutch: 96
    • Bunt: 37
    • Drag Bunt: 34
    • Durability: 97

Jeremy Pena represents Astros’ shortstop. Not only does he have great contact attributes, he is also very fast. He averages 29.4 feet per second, the fastest on Astros. Summer Jeremy Pena ranks eighth among all shortstops, and this card is great both offensively and defensively.

    93 OVR Summer Nick Castellanos

    • Contact Right: 99
    • Contact Left: 116
    • Power Right: 95
    • Power Left: 106
    • Vision: 77
    • Discipline: 55
    • Clutch: 106
    • Bunt: 35
    • Drag Bunt: 25
    • Durability: 99

93 OVR Summer Nick Castellanos is a right fielder for Phillies and is ranked 16th among MLB 25 right fielders.

Nick Castellanos is very good at hitting balls to the left, and his Contact Right attribute is also good, allowing him to reliably hit any pitch from the pitcher. However, his speed and defense are average in other aspects.

  • MLB The Show 25 Most Cost-Effective Players: Who Are Them?

    Posted: Mar 24, 2025

Diamond Dynasty mode allows you to skip a ton of grinding in the early game and get access to all kinds of great players. But building a great team requires MLB 25 Stubs, and at least in the early game, most players can’t use stubs as they please.

Many players may think that only highly rated players, such as Shohei Ohtani or Aaron Judge, are eligible to join your team, but in fact, some players, although they have low ratings and require few stubs, have very good performance and become the most cost-effective players that players can have in the early stage.

    1. Yordan Alvarez

    • 78 Overall Rating
    • Position: LF
    • Bats: Left
    • Throws: Right
    • Team: Astros
    • Free: Team Affinity - My Journey

MLB The Show 25 Most Cost-Effective Players: Who Are Them?

You can get Yordan Alvarez for free by completing My Journey in Team Affinity! With a rating of only 78, many players may not put him in their team after getting him, but in fact, Yordan Alvarez performs very well in the team!

Yordan Alvarez’s silver card speed is only 39, reaction is only 26, and defense is only 37, so he is not qualified for the position of outfielder. But Yordan Alvarez’s data as a hitter is very good. His Power Right is 89 points, Power Left is 88 points, and the contact of left-handed and right-handed is not less than 74 points. So he can perfectly be the designated hitter in your lineup, or at least, he can be effectively used as a substitute hitter. As a free player, this performance is good enough.

    2. Tyler Holton

    • Overall: 77
    • Position: RP
    • Bats: Left
    • Throws: Left
    • Team: Tigers
    • 186 Stubs

Tyler Holton is a relief pitcher and a left-handed pitcher. Therefore, adding Tyler Holton to your team can enrich your team lineup. Tyler Holton has good stats in the pitching department. He has a 95 Pitch Clutch and an 80 Control. This makes Tyler Holton a reliable relief pitcher who can win you valuable points in the most crucial innings.

But don’t use Tyler Holton in the qualifying game. In the qualifying game where every player is strong, Tyler Holton with a 77 score has almost no advantage. But at other times, having such a player can catch the opponent off guard. However, Tyler Holton does not need many MLB The Show 25 Stubs. If you are lucky enough, you can get him with 130 Stubs.

    3. Jose Alvarado

    • Overall: 76
    • Position: RP
    • Bats: Left
    • Throws: Left
    • Team: Tigers
    • 149 Stubs

Jose Alvarado is very similar to Tyler Holton, and he is also a left-handed bullpen pitcher. Jose Alvarado’s Control score is 72 and Pitch Clutch score is 110!

Jose Alvarado has a sinker that pairs well with his second-line cutter and third-line 12-6 curveball. While his K/9 is only 72, which is a bit low for a relief pitcher, his 110 pitching ability and 99 velocity make up for it.

The above stats make Jose Alvarado comparable to Tyler Holton, even if the totals are a bit lower. But then Mark Davis, unlocked in multiplayer, or John Franco, unlocked through the Mets team affinity, can replace Jose Alvarado, making him less in demand than Tyler Holton, so fewer stubs are needed to unlock Jose Alvarado.

MLB 25 Stubs Hot Sale At IGGM.com

    4. Jordan Lawlar

    • Overall: 86
    • Position: SS / 3B
    • Bats: Right
    • Throws: Right
    • Team: Diamondbacks
    • Free: Pipeline program

Jordan Lawlar’s Pipeline card has an 86 rating and is available for free, so there is no reason why he shouldn’t be included in the recommendation. Jordan Lawlar is an excellent shortstop who is good at turning ground balls that would otherwise be hits into regular outs. He also has a quick swing and his performance at the plate is not good enough for an 86-point card. As long as you use this card, you will find that his batting average is high.

He is still not good enough to put him in the center of the lineup, but this young shortstop is very suitable as a starting position for your team or as a reliable hitter. Jordan Lawlar is the second to last card you can get in Pipeline program. Although most of the attributes are not high, using him will subvert your view of him.

    5. Yoshinodu Yamamoto

    • Overall: 82
    • Position: SP
    • Bats: Right
    • Throws: Right
    • Team: Dodgers
    • 1000 Stubs

Dodgers Yoshinodu Yamamoto can be your starting pitcher. You may be intimidated by 1000 stubs, but his good pitch combination, deceptive pitches and high upside make him one of the pitchers that is definitely worth your investment. His total pitching score is 688 points, including a high Velocity score. His cutter-slider combination is often effective against right-handed hitters. At the same time, his forkball is very fast, with a maximum speed of 90 mph.

Yoshinodu Yamamoto still has room for improvement in the major leagues. If he performs well, the attributes of Yoshinodu Yamamoto’s card will also be adjusted up. Even in the short term, this card can provide you with a lot of help.

These five players are very cost-effective players. They can fill the gaps in your bullpen pitchers, allowing you to free up some stubs to collect powerful players in other positions. When you have enough resources in the later stage, you can replace them with other strong pitchers.

  • MLB The Show 25 Franchise Mode Players: Which Players Should You Keep An Eye On?

    Posted: Mar 13, 2025

MLB The Show 25 is about to be released. Are you ready to be the general manager of a virtual baseball club? MLB 25 is ambitious this year and has made many changes. In particular, the rules for players to collect in franchise mode have changed. In this mode, players must be more strategic to get the baseball players they want.

    What Is Franchise Mode?

Franchise mode now allows you to brand your team. You can design custom logos, uniforms and even stadiums. At the same time, Franchise mode also designs a more realistic player trading market. You need to design a good enough contract to attract players, and you will also face competition from other clubs. You may encounter a situation where you use more MLB The Show 25 Stubs on this player than you planned because other teams are competing for the same player.

Franchise mode forces players to adopt a more realistic approach to roster construction. Simply put, the team with a higher total salary will have a better chance of signing the player you want in the free agent market. This means that any low-payroll team will have a hard time keeping their star players.

Now players must adopt more strategies to add talent to their team. So, which star baseball players are worth keeping an eye on?

MLB The Show 25 Franchise Mode Players: Which Players Should You Keep An Eye On?

    1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

    • Overall Rating: 90
    • First Baseman

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been selected to All-Star Game for 4 consecutive years. He is definitely one of the best players in baseball history. In 2021, he was the leader in MLB in home runs (48) and runs scored (123).

There are rumors that Guerrero will also receive a new contract worth $500 million! Such a player is destined to become a big name in the field.

Players who play Dodgers or Yankees in Franchise Mode can recruit Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to your club because you can provide him with enough salary. Blue Jays players can change Vladimir Guerrero for a promising young player to enrich the team.

    2. Ketel Marte

    • Overall Rating: 96
    • Second Baseman

Ketel Marte is on a roll. He had his best season last season. This earned him his second All-Star appearance. Ketel Marte is still on a five-year, $76 million contract and will become a free agent in the 2029 season. He has already played for Diamondbacks for one season and if he continues to perform this way this season, he should get a contract extension.

Ketel Marte is 31 years old now and he may decline in the coming seasons as his physical strength declines. But he is at his peak now, which means that other teams will not be able to keep him at a lower salary. Maybe this opportunity will come after he becomes a free agent in 2029.

    3. Gunnar Henderson

    • Overall Rating: 94
    • Shortstop

Gunnar Henderson had great success in his second year of his career. He made his professional debut in 2022 and won Silver Slugger Award, American League Rookie of the Year Award and the next year. And in 2024, Gunnar Henderson was successfully selected as an All-Star.

Gunnar Henderson is only 24 years old this year, and his current performance is far from his limit. It is surprising that such a player with unlimited potential only has a salary of $756,200 in Orioles. This contract expires in one year, and he is now looking for a more sincere contract.

Gunnar Henderson is young and full of potential. Recruiting such a player with MLB The Show 25 Stubs will definitely make your team rank well for a long time.

    4. Brent Rooker

    • Overall Rating: 90
    • Outfielder

Brent Rooker made his MLB debut in 2020, and three years later he was selected for MLB All-Star Game. Brent Rooker renewed his contract with Athletics this offseason and will stay with the team until the 2030 season.

The 30-year-old outfielder has performed well over the past two seasons, hitting 39 home runs and driving in 112 runs in 2024.

Since Brent Rooker is already 30 years old, you need to be cautious with this player and don’t sign him without thinking. For any team with a lower payroll, the advice is: if Brent Rooker performs well in the middle of the season, go all out and change him for other players. If playing in a top payroll team, it may be worth keeping him in the team for a year and see how he performs before making a decision.

    5. Tarik Skubal

    • Overall Rating: 94
    • Pitcher

Tarik Skubal is one of the best pitchers in MLB 25. He signed a one-year, $10.15 million contract with Tigers on January 9, 2025.

Tarik Skubal had a great season last year, leading the majors in wins (18), ERA (2.39), and strikeouts (228). This earned him 2024 American League Cy Young Award.

Although Tarik Skubal is only 28 years old, he is already a veteran in the field. He made his debut in 2020 and quickly became the best pitcher in Tigers.

If Tigers don’t perform well this season, then players can try to bring him into your club and sign him to a long-term contract. Don’t be stingy with your MLB 25 Stubs at this time. Otherwise, a team like Yankees may suddenly appear and sign him.

Although these players are top players, it doesn’t mean you should rush to offer high salaries to sign them. What you need is to pay attention to the information of these players and bring them into your team when the time is right.

  • MLB The Show 25 Players: Developers Reveal The Highest Player Overall Rating

    Posted: Mar 10, 2025

MLB The Show 25 is about to be officially released on March 18, and the developers have released a list of the top players in each position and their ratings. For baseball players, you must be curious to know whether these top-rated players are what you predicted in your mind, so let’s take a look.

    99 Overall Rating

99 is an unattainable score, which almost means that the player is perfect. Only three players have received this honor in MLB 25, two of whom are outfielders and one is a pitcher.

MLB The Show 25 Players: Developers Reveal The Highest Player Overall Rating

Aaron Judge, an outfielder from New York Yankees, has received a 99 rating for two consecutive years. His rating has never been lower than 90 since 2021. In this year’s rating, Aaron Judge is the only player in Yankees with an overall rating of more than 90.

Juan Soto of New York Mets has reached the 99 overall rating position for the first time as an outfielder. The two key ratings of discipline 99 and batting clutch 99 are the key to his 99 rating.

    Special Ratings

In MLB 25, the overall rating can represent most of the strength of the character but not all the strength of the character. Some players have particularly outstanding statistics in the areas they are good at. For example, the speed of a pitcher’s pitch. Some players have pitched in the triple digits, throwing at 100 mph:

    • Mason Miller: 4-seam fastball at 100.9 mph
    • Johan Duran: 4-seam fastball at 100.5 mph
    • Justin Martinez: sinker at 100.1 mph
    • Seth Halvorsen: 2-seam fastball at 100.1 mph
    • Abner Uribe: 4-seam fastball at 100.1 mph
    • Paul Skenes: 4-seam fastball at 100 mph

Some players are able to catch these super fast balls, and they have very high scores in speed and steal:

    • Corbin Carroll: 94 speed and 99 steal
    • Dairon Blanco: 94 speed and 95 steal
    • David Hamilton: 90 speed and 95 steal
    • Esteury Ruiz: 90 speed and 90 steal

Players who show exceptional talent in field and arm:

    • Pete Crow-Armstrong: 96 field and 99 arm
    • Michael A. Taylor: 95 field and 90 arm
    • Blake Perkins: 93 field and 92 arm
    • Elly De La Cruz: 90 field and 99 arm
    • Cristian Pache: 90 field and 92 arm

If you have enough MLB The Show 25 Stubs, you can choose the highest-rated player without any hesitation. If you don’t have enough stubs, you have to be more careful, look at the data of the players on your team, and find a player who can make up for this shortcoming.
